Hatha Yoga Retreat. May Day Holiday Weekend in Sierra Cabrera, Almería

(April 30, May 1 and 2). 3 days and 2 nights.

Led and organized by: Ana García. yogacabodegata.es

Location: El Nacimiento del Rincón. Rincón de Tablas Estate, Sierra Cabrera, Turre, Almería.

In spring… let’s cleanse ourselves and reconnect with our inner feelings through the practice of Hatha Yoga and a deep connection with nature.
After each practice, we’ll have the opportunity to swim in a natural spring-fed pool. We’ll share nourishing, healthy meals, enjoy time together, and deepen our Hatha Yoga practice.

Where?

… In a wild and silent landscape, in Sierra Cabrera, in the mountains and close to the sea… An unspoiled spot half an hour’s drive from the coast of Mojácar, and an hour from Cabo de Gata Natural Park.

In a magical country house “El Nacimiento del Rincón”. Exquisitely decorated, with noble materials, a mix of cultures, colors, and a lot of character. It is an almost self-sufficient country house, with a solar energy system and a natural spring that supplies the house and the pools.

The mild temperatures of the Almería region make swimming in the farm’s pools, originally built for irrigation, very appealing even in winter.

María, the hostess of the house, will cook healthy, delicious, and natural food for us and will take care of every detail to make you feel at home.

In addition to our Yoga practices, we will enjoy a contemplative walk through the mountains, listening to the birdsong and our footsteps. We will reach a place where there is a petroglyph, where we can sit in meditation.

Hatha Yoga Practice at the Retreat

At the retreat, we will combine Hatha Yoga practices more dynamic and energetic in the mornings, based on “Vinyasa” sequences, focusing on fluidity and synchronization with the breath. In the afternoons, classes will have a static emphasis, based on spinal alignment and using support props to facilitate postures. The aim is to improve body awareness through sustained holds.

The intention is that constant observation, active perception “feeling”, and attention will immerse us in a climate of concentration and discernment to deepen our practice. We will complement this with more restorative practices, relaxation, pranayama, and meditation, along with mountain walks.

Although my training is in Hatha Yoga, I have practiced Iyengar Yoga for 15 years and I like to combine both styles, as I find they complement each other perfectly. I am interested in connecting with our inner space and promoting balance in the energetic flow of the entire body, as well as creating openings to release and feel ourselves.

Practices will take place in a large hall of the country house, with open windows and safe distances between practitioners. However, we can also practice outdoors if the weather permits.

The practice will be adapted to all levels.
